Foundation - General trade
Our journey began in 1993 when our Chairman, Joseph Bbosa, started operations as a General Trader, importing consumer goods from Nairobi. This laid the foundation for what would become a long-standing presence in Uganda’s FMCG landscape.
Initial Business Registration
After a decade of hands-on trading experience, the vision to professionally distribute quality, branded consumer products led to the registration of JOB Distributors as a sole proprietorship in 2004.
Incorporation
In response to a rapidly evolving business environment and growing scale of operations, JOB Distributors Ltd was incorporated as a company limited by shares on 18th January 2017, under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau and the Uganda Revenue Authority. This milestone marked our transition into a fully structured corporate distributor.
Expansion into Modern Trade
Building on our success in chewing gum distribution, we expanded into modern trade in 2021, introducing chocolates and other fast-moving consumer products. This strategic move strengthened our presence in key retail chains and urban markets.
Appointment as NIVEA Distributor
In March 2025, JOB Distributors Ltd was appointed as a distributor for NIVEA / Beiersdorf, a globally respected personal care brand. We currently manage distribution of NIVEA products across all upcountry markets in Uganda, significantly strengthening our footprint in the beauty and personal care segment..
Appointment as BIC Distributor
In September 2025, we added BIC to our portfolio as an international principal. JOB Distributors Ltd is responsible for the nationwide distribution of the full BIC range of Shavers and Lighters across Uganda, further diversifying our portfolio and reinforcing our leadership in high-volume FMCG categories.
